AQ HDC louder than SSD?

Just wondering if a 15" AQ HDC with copper coils would be louder than my 15" SSD with copper coils. The amp is a Memphis PR1.1000 so 1000 watts at 1 ohm.

Currently my SSD is in a 3.5cf enclosure tuned to 34Hz. It plays the lows awesome, but is lacking in upper range bass. Would the HDC get as low?

My 18 took 1kw just fine. It doesnt need 2kw or higher just to get loud. With that being said, just doing a straight swap out with the ssds, im not sure if you would gain much off the power you have op. I would stick with what you have until you get more power, and the aqs do not lack the lowend. It will definately be there..

i agree the hdc3 will murder the ssd on that power its a toss up though just try it and see with the hdc3 atleast you know you can add more power in the future. the hdc3 high end is amazing and even tuned at 38 mine hits the lows nicely.

Should handle more than 4k on burps for copper coils too. Quite a bit more in fact.

That's not a fair comparison. HDC3 will be louder, but the SSD is an overall better daily driver IMO. However they will be louder, and crave more power. if your using the SSD off 1K keep it. if you where comparing a BTL to a HDC3 then that'll be a topic.

Now you didn't say rms wattage. For that I wouldn't rec. more than a solid 2500-3k.

ill tell you this...they take an American Bass 1000.1 (10,000 rms) like a champ.i want to give them 7000 each from 2 cadence zrs c-7's.
