Aq 3500d?

Yea but what happens when the NOOBIXes get there hands on it and think they can run it on a stock electrical?? Im in and DJ knows it.. He is just worried about the fact of people messing them up because they want that power, see the spec and think "Well hell look at the price might as well"?.. You all got to understand that DJ is a cautious Person.. Jer knows him better then I.. I love the concept just would hate to see if foul if someone bought one and try something stupid with it..
Im all for it i just was kinda hoping this would have stayed on the DL a lil bit longer.. Hopefully he will.. I have pics of the 3500 Proto.. 2 of them strapped would be a site..

lol never mind J beat me to it.. "Pics"
I agree with you alex about the noobs but noobs can also fry a woofer just as easy with less power, wrong tuning....

side note,

5k is were its going to be at soon especially with all the great subwoofers out there. The clipping indicator would be a great addition as well as a protect on undervoltage which would also be a great addition. In my opinion most people out there looking at 5k amp pretty much know they have to beef up there electrical anyways.

I wouldnt think the current draw difference between say 2 2200D amps strapped to only 1 larger 5k amp would be all that different or even 2-2200D 1 amp per woofer. I know why DJ is hesitant about getting larger amps, we have discussed this almost a year ago but things have came along way in that time period. Like I mentioned to DJ last year 5k is where its going to be. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Egg,

Think about this. How large is a 5kw amp? No where near 2X as big as a pair of AQ 2200's. How large are the components in a 5 kw amp compared to the components in the 2200? A lot friggen bigger. The Koreans just aren't building those 5kw amps that bullet proof yet. They are sticking huge components on a board that isn't much if any thicker than the boards on a 2000 watt amp, and slapping them in cases that aren't big enough to dissipate all the heat. User error isn't the only fault that those big amps have. It's not always as simple as telling them to build a better amp also. They are going to tell you that you have to spend XX,XXX dollars to open up a new tool. If you pay the money, they will just whore out the new board/amp to anyone they can. It's a vicious cycle really. When you combine that with the fact that you can buy a pair of 2200's for the same or less money, and they will be more bullet proof.............what's the point? Just some things to think about.

All good points J, Im not sure what buildhouse DJ uses but there is a couple making some bullet proof 5k amps. I agree some are larger than 2 2200D's. Example Brand A 5k(24.5"LX10.6"WX2.6"H) compared to AQ 2200D (17.7"LX9.27"WX2.35"H) thats about 7" difference in length and 1.3" in width. Not really much difference except for Length, to compare that to 2 AQ 2200Ds depending upon which way you mount the amps either Brand A is smaller or the AQ's are smaller depending upon install and this is comparing Brand A to AQ2200's and not the size of the "3500D". Honestly Id take the larger Brand A amplifier to 2 smaller amps strapped. There are more Pros to Cons for the end user to use one large amp to 2 smaller amps strapped which you know those reasons already.

The 5k amps have came along way in last year or two threw better design and components.

Just my opinion,

I'm bumping this one up to let you guys know that these amps are comming, and a killer price is comming along with them! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I know this has been asked before but anything on a 2 channel or 4 channel?
4 X 90 Class AB (double sided board) is being built for our new German made

AQG-6.5" comp sets.

Both amps and the AQG-6.5" comps are in production now. Looking at a release date of 30-45 days on the amps and a little sooner on the comps.

comps will be out just a little too late for my project, but might have to swap out amps for that 4x90 when it comes on the market so my amps match. I assume that 4x90 can be bridged?
