Part 1:

I used one of my old HD3 12's with dual 2 coils. Amp running at 1 ohm nominal. The is the same box I used to test the AQ1200 and the HD3c's when they came out.

VAC: 66.2V

CAC:16.52A

Apparent power: 1093.624 watts

Reactive Impedance: 4.007 ohms

TL score: 143.8 legal dash

Compared to rated power: 1093.624/750 = 1.458 or 45.8% over rated power!

Part 2 comming soon

Part 2:

I picked up the old HD3c 12 prototype from AQ (I'll admit I missed it) Dual 2 copper coils. Running the amp at 1 ohm nominal.

VAC: 65.9V

CAC: 19.39A

Apparent power: 1277.8

Reactive Impedance: 3.4 Ohms

TL score: 145.7 (legal dash)

use a pair of the old hd's @ .5 ohm roll into the volume and see what kinda power we can get @ 2 ohms //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

There is a part 3 comming....sometime. Probably with 4 12's though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif (I'd have to build a box or use a prefab for 2 12's.......I'm way too lazy)

What kind of power supply you giving it? 4ga or 1/0 power wire, battery? Voltage drop?
Good info so far.
2 NSB 90's and about 20 runs of 1/0 to my distribution blocks. I've just got 4 ga running from the dist. blocks to the amp. I might stick some 1/0 in there to see if it gains anymore.

Here lilmaniac

VAC 58.9

CAC 28.45

Apparent power: 1675.7 watts

Reactive Impedance: 2.07 ohms

TL score: 139.1 at 30hz

Note: I believe the subsonic filter is starting to drop power at this point. Also 1/0 running into the amp would have to help at this power level. I'm out of time for today, or I would put some in there.

i think it has more so to do with the power factor. the closer you get back to your nominal load, the more accurate the calculation is going to be. the farther you get away from it, the more "apparent power" you will have, instead of actual power. the subsonic will affect it, but id like to see it turned off to see if it really is.

i think the first test figures a little inflated for this very reason.

immacomputer can probably explain this better than me.
