-Didn't handle the install myself, done by a local shop.

-Hooked to a SDC2.5 12"

-****** factory HU as of now

-Gains set to

Testing out some new songs, everything was sounding great until the amp kicked off in the middle of a song. I heard several clicking or popping sounds coming from it, so I quickly turned off the car. I turned the car back on everything came on fine, but I was afraid I had been pushing it too hard so I gave it about an hour to cool off.

I came back a few minutes ago to make sure everything was still ok with it, but now won't come on at all. (prior to this, amp had always stayed on, and last time it had came back on when I started the car).

Please tell me I'm overreacting and this is an easy fix, I'm scared to death I managed to blow my new amp :\

Had been playing ~20 mins, amp was still cold to the touch, no access to meter so gains aren't exact, and because I'm still stuck with the stock HU I'm assuming a LOC had to be used to install it.

have you checked all of yourfuses. and do you have another amp that you can change it out with to make sure your wiring is fine. also what ohm load are you showing to the amp currently

also what does your electrical system consist of. for some reason I have a feeling its cca 4 guage

I'll double check all the fuses, don't have access to another amp.

How would I go about checking that? I know its supposed to be a 2ohm load

like I said. what size power wire are you running. and turn your gain down. there is a good chance that your clipping it
Sorry, didn't see that edit. And yes, it looks like pretty standard 4 gauge.

I'm careful to watch the clipping light, it will flicker occasionally with a deep hit, but I always turn down the volume if that happens. Hadn't been coming on at all before this happened.

Spent all night under the hood double checking everything, eventually found out the install guy had missed a washer and a connection was barely loose. Everything's good to go now.

I then bumped a few songs to make sure everything was fine, and came in to find I broke 3 ornaments off the tree in the process. Merry Christmas everyone.
