Apple iOS 6

The apple debate continues. I laugh every time it comes up to be honest. The points made by apple or their clients just get me going every time..lol

I agree though, if like one or the other just go that way. Personally only thing from Apple I have is an Itouch and it is only used about twice a year if that.

Why do these threads always get the I hate apple / android fags crying about how apple ***** and their android phones are so much better. No one gives a shit.
It's no different then some of the audio threads. Where everyone comes out of the wood work to express how their (insert brand name here) is better then your brand or others.

It's why an opinion is an opinion, and facts are facts. Some people cope great with apple, some do with android. I coped better with apple because I use the phone for only a few things that is it. And it works everytime. When I had an android, I could "customize" it more and have more fun with it.

It's like comparing a Glock to a 1911.

Gotta love how anyone who has some real input on iOS6 to add to this thread is under Apple's NDA.

This thread is lame. If you like Droid, go with droid. If you like apple, go with apple. Don't b|tch about it.

Both of you are obviously too broke to afford a smartphone. Still rocking the oldschool Nokia with a cracked screen, rainbow buttons, and playing snake on the daily.

Oh and Android FTW.

Droid has had that for years... it's on their cheapest most basic phones.
Being as Droid is made by Motorola, which was purchased by Google, and runs the Android OS, created by google, I realize that they run google maps. My point was that in 2007 upon the unveiling of the Iphone and Ipad Steve Jobs and then Google CEO- Eric Smits (sp?) presented the products together. The two companies have embraced a business-like marriage where they had agreements in place not to poach employees, not to infringe on patents, etc. etc.. With that being said, all Iphones/Ipad's up until iOS6 have all came standard with Google Maps. Google basically stabbed Apple in the back (Explanations below) which is why Google Maps is no longer available on the iOS6 and the TbT was put on. Btw, for the previous comment about Android making more profit, your insane.. do your research. Apple has long been victim to patent infringements and has never had a good history of defending them; however, Apple has taken this betrayal to heart and are set on destroying Android.

2007

When he introduced the iPhone at Macworld 2007, Jobs demonstrated how Google Maps (GOOG) worked on the device. He pulled up a list of Starbucks (SBUX) stores in the local area and said, "Let's call one." When someone answered, Jobs said: "I'd like to order 4,000 lattes to go, please. No, just kidding."

2009

For a long time now, Apple’s competitors have perceived Apple as a company that knew how to make nice consumer products, but had been historically unable to defend itself in court. That led to ripoffs, all around the world, by companies who could benefit from copying Apple. Google may have had that cavalier attitude when it decided, with Eric Schmidt sitting on Apple’s board, to get into the phone business, something of a betrayal perceived by Steve Jobs. Putting a stop to that not only means patenting your innovations but having a complete understanding of the provenance of various agreements. That requires preparations for all out war.

2011

In the current case against Samsung in Australia, Apple has sought and won an injunction against Samsung for violating an important touchscreen heuristic. It’s not out of bounds for Apple to do that

Apple, as it has grown, has made some serious preparations for war.

Developed a great portfolio of patents to protect its innovation with iOS.

Developed a first class legal staff that’s well funded.

Come to understand the intricate details of communication patents and the strategic weaknesses of the opposing legal teams.

Come to understand the different patent laws in different countries.

Come to understand just how Android infringes on the iOS UI in a manner that Google hadn’t completely thought out or prepared for.

Struck considerable fear in those who thought that Android would be an easy path to successful competition with Apple.

What looks like juvenile, pugilistic legal shenanigans by Apple is, in fact, a well orchestrated war to destroy Android and 1) drive Samsung and HTC into the arms of Microsoft — where they are protected, but will pay profit killing fees, 2) or else waste time to spend huge sums building their own mobile OS, and 3) completely undermine and discredit Google’s purchase of Motorola. In the end, Google may have blown US$12.5B and be stuck with a hardware company that has no viable mobile OS.

The wrath of Steve Jobs can be felt even beyond the grave.

I dont care what anybody says, I love my iPhone and apple products. I can run Windows 7 and OSX Lion off of my macbook from a boot camp, I can have all my products interact with one another and they look sweet. If $200 for a iPhone is expensive then why is the Razor Max $300 ($100 extra for the crap battery upgrade). Most android phones cost more then iPhones when they are first released and then they lose value over a few months. I enjoy the fact that my iPhone holds its value and I can make a profit off of it when I want to upgrade. Everybody has their preferences but this thread was just to inform apple lovers about the new iOS coming out not a competition about which company is better. I will take reliability over customization any day.

I think you should try an Android phone as your daily phone for a few weeks.

I was the same as you and like the iphone and mac books.

The lesser androids have the problems.

I have never had an issue with any Galaxy devices.

I just couldn't stand the tiny screen anymore and had to jump over

I hear you on that. I have owned the Original Droid, Eris, Incredible, Thunderbolt, Charge, Droid 2, Droid 2 Global, Xperia Play, Evo, Atrix, and a few more I cant remember. After about of month of using them I got bored. Rooting them and the wifi tethering were the only things I enjoyed. The only good things I can say about Android phones is that some of the hardware they run on are great and usually have the latest and greatest but I keep finding myself running out of fun apps and when was the last time you heard an electronic device outside of phones saying it was "android compatible" lol. The marketplace is just waaaay to small compared to apple and everything is pretty much iphone compatible.
