Anything better than a type x for $165?

I found a type x in great condition that I can get for $165. Would there be any other options to give better performance for similar price? I have 1200w at 2ohms and don't want to use more than 2.5ft^3 of trunk space (not that a Mustang really has any trunk space to begin with lol). As a reference, some of the other woofers I've used are as follows: 2 ID10's, 1 ID15, 2 12W3V3, and currently 2 JBL GTI 10's. I love the JBL's, but one of the voice coils is starting to go, and I'd rather get them out of there before I end up blowing both of them. Also, I've never heard the type x. How would 1 ported 12 do compared to the previous setups I listed?

2.5 is about all you can fit without building in the trunk. The Type-X is a good sub. Give it a try. From your other subs, it sounds like you're more in to SQ. I'd also throw the Dayton HO and AE Speakers on my short list for that price range.

For what you want it seems the type x is good. Definitely not a bad price. I heard 2 before and they don't sound bad at all.

Why not recone the JBL if you love it so much? Or are you just itching to try something new? I think if you gave us some goals for your system, it would help us better recommend a sub for you.

In theory that sounds like a great idea, but it would be cheaper to get that type plus the gti's are starving for more power, only putting 800w to the pair at the moment.
