No imac experence only power mac and power book. What are you looking at a mac for? What exactly are you wanting in a computer?

somehting more reliable/faster than my PC , i have an AMD3000+ lapptop with 1 gig memory, no gaming , nothing hardcore just a nice computer that'll last a while and still be fast

my G4 powerbook is my produtction/internet/homework/anything usful system my windows machine in my gamer but its dead...i love my mac, it is a million time more stable than windows

I just bought the Rev B 20" IMAC about 2 weeks ago. They upgraded the HD, Video Card, Optical Drive, added in the Wireless Card and Bluetooth as a standard feature, bumped up the proc., and upped the memory (all while lowering the price). If you are going to go Apple you can't beat the IMAC in terms of value. Go to a Comp USA or Apple Store to see them in person if you haven't already. You'll definately want to go 20" once you do. Also use the educational store to get a student discount off Apple's website to save you a couple hundred bucks.

that and they have a $100 rebate for students right now , its hard to pass up the deal , it'll put ya right at 1600 for the 20" iMac, 2.0 gig , 250gig HD, Superdrive, plus with the new panther ? and bluetooth ? im going to compusa tonight

If you want cheap performance they Mac Mini is a great choice. the $500 one has 256 meg ram (upgradable to 1gig) a 40 or 60 gig HD cant remember, and a 1 gig G4 processor. Not too shabby for $500 IMO

I was also thinking about a mac mini but they dont have mch as far as HD space/vid card compared to the iMac's

i could get into a 17" one for fairly cheap , i might go that route and , well maybe the 20" im torn between the two !!

i hate the way macs do stuff.

i hate the way PC's do stuff.

computers are mad gay and i wish i knew less about them.

but id rather use a PC than a mac (and yes, ive used them extensivly in the graphic arts - i still hate them)
