Anyone watching the Clemens McNamee hearing?

Nothing like watching the 1st inning and then seeing 8 instant replays back to back for the rest of the evening. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

So you're saying that the figureheads of this great sport of yours are cheats? Even better.
You have to know the sport to appreciate it. It will seem boring if you know next to nothing about it. Every inning is not like the previous, thats why they play all 9.

They aren't cheats at all. So you are saying if you owned a company and someone in your company did something wrong that would really hurt the company, you would go through with an investigation and let it known to the public. It's just common sense. You wouldn't do something to hurt your worth.

It's tough to watch a whole baseball game.
I'll only sit down and watch the playoffs. For regular season, I'll catch a couple innings here or there.

However, going to games is a whole different thing..

Some people love it, some people hate it. I know i could sit all day and watch baseball on TV. I know i couldnt sit and watch golf all day, thats for sure. But each to his own.

Making it public would be my job if I reported to the public.
Why doesn't the NFL have a crap load of investigations? Answer- They punish people on their own when they don't pass drug screens.
The MLB punishes people as well as the NFL. I dont know why the NFL doesn't get more investigations, it seems the MLB are the only ones to get the attention. I know that steroid use is far more prevalent in the NFL, yet they don't make it that big of a deal. I think that the NFL lets far more slide than the MLB does. There should be an investigation into the NFL as well.

I really don't know what to think at this point because Clemens has denied all this from the beginning and has done it in front of congress now. Also, the one congressman called that trainer a blatant liar. On the other hand Pettite testified that he talked to Clemens about taking HGH. Regardless someone is going to jail.
That in most court rooms is called "here-say" and typically inadmissable in a court of law.

Yeah I wonder the same thing. Sure it isnt the right thing to do, but with all the money and time thats going into these steroid investigations you have to wonder why all these resources arent going to something much more meaningful. I mean there are much more pressing issues in this country right now than steroids.
Yeah, like heroin, crack - or prescription pain pills or prescription sleeping aids - that took the life of Heath Ledger or the concoction of prescription pills that took the lives of Daniel and Nicole Smith. But there is too much money being handed to politicians for keeping those DRUGS legal. and don't get me started on cigerattes which kill 250,000 people a year but again there is billions of tax dollars the government makes off of them, which to them is worth the 250,000 thousand lives. Our government is the biggest bunch of crooks worse than the mob - at least there is honor and respect in the mob - they never fvcked with anyone who didn't have it coming to them, the gov't just fvcks everyone - regardless.

There is no need. The NFL acknowledges the issue. The MBL ignores it because they know that one more HUGE situation like the strike a few years back, and the entire sport dies.
The MLB does not ignore it at all. There have been alot of suspensions handed down over the past few years. The NFL does not acknowledge the issue and thats why they don't have a big situation like the MLB does.

Here's a list of all the players the MLB has taken action against. 40 incidents in all.

I have been listening to the entire hearing on the radio
I don't know what to think

But I do know one of these guys is a complete jackass

And yeah I hope Clemens is telling the truth but there are some strange parts about his story,

Yeah, be a man - tell the truth - Brian Roberts, Jay Gibbons and Andy Pettite are examples - they got named, they admitted they did paid a fine and not heard from since - now Clemens is up in front of the Grand Jury and if he is found guilty of lying later on down the road they will put him in jail for perjury. Our society is very forgiving, admit your guilt - take it like a man and be done with it.

After all the Barry Bonds crap about being brought up on perjury charges...why would Clemens lie to Congress and risk going through all this crap for years to come?

I personally think he's innocent...too much of McNamee's verbage is full of lies...he's been admitting to Congress all morning that he's been lying.

I would like to think that when someone is this adamant about their innocence that they really are.

For those of you that don't like roger and think he's a lying tool...what do you like about McNamee that gives him so much credibility?

Then explain to me why the MLB is the hot issue.
That is a good question and exactly why they are getting the big investigation rather than the NFL, I really don't know.

I can think of a few reasons that may have something to do with it. It seems that the MLB punishes alot more people than the NFL and each time something happens it gets media attention. When you get alot of media attention the people then urge government to get involved, as they did in this case.

I also think the government wants to clean up the game as it is regarded as "America's Past Time". They think that it is a representation of the country and want it to be "pure" again.
