and just go to home depot or lowes, they have cheap welders there that would be fine to learn with.

nah, im learning it right now in school.

so all i have to say is, read a book or take a class....youll learn alot.

I learned how to arc weld on steel.

Hard imo. Mainly because I didnt have one of those masks that goes auto dark.

a good mask is necessary to see what youre doing

Id go with MIG. Second id go with a stick welding. Oxy is just a waste to me besides cutting things

Lol welding is definately an art.......Im am pretty bad at welding but I've only tried welding stuff like sheetmetal for like shaving door handles and also holding a 4" by 4" peice of tinted glass doesnt help with my steadiness either

Oxy is the best way to go if your on a buget... *to me anyways* You can cut, weld, bronze, etc, all with one piece of equipment.

I had a auto dark that was tinted pretty dark then went darker when I struck the ark. I got flased a couple times but it wasnt that bad.
