Anyone tried the circut breakers instead of fuse blocks ? They are alot smaller and running out of places to put the fuse blocks under the hood as they are so big
What breakers have you used? I understand on huge competition systems running 5K plus I can see issue. But the main issue is that most people go for the cheapest option in these devices. Big mistake, depending on the type of breaker ie, instantanious trip, time delay, and so on and size determines the opening rate. If the subject installs too large or too small of fuse the same problems can arise. I have always used breakers on my daily driver applications when I can get te correct size and only had an issue from idiot friend not using trip button to open it. I do understand some comp classes do not allow but if its a daily driver with wire size correctly matched up to Over current protective device(fuse or cb) in conjunction with a quality fused distroblock there sould be no problems. It it not a smart idea to use circuit breakers in car audio application, they often times dont open fast enough
They will never be as reliable as quality fuses. Also contact resistance is always increasing from when the breaker was new especially if it has been tripped multiple times from overcurrentWhat breakers have you used? ill take a solid element ANY day, screw contacts. The only thing i think they should be used for are the car audio specific ones with the contact break for a quick disconnect. but The wire should still be fused as the reliable point of breakWhat breakers have you used?
