Anyone running alpine type R 10's or 12's

type r and type x alpine subs are great subs

they have killer responce in the right box/config they play really low and smooth

for the guy that said re has better subs sure there MX or XXX series the re se series is no way better than type r alpine.

bottom line they are good subs and if you can fit a 12 get the 12 the difrf tho form 10 to 12 is there how big the diff depends on power box sixe and what not.

cant go wrong tho

disregard EVERYTHING this man said. RE is not a godly sub, however MX XXX and SE series are ALL better than the type R, and the watt-***** know as the type X.

reason i know this is i actually considered a type r12 and a se 12, and the SE was a clear choice to me after hearing both of them ported.

to the poster of this topic, i would really reccomend RE subs, the SE series is only slightly more (feel free to contact me if you want a link to some good places to shop around), but is far better. however, what i heard of it was when it was in a ported enclosure. if youre going to go sealed, i would reccomend more research as i have never even heard an SE sealed, so i cant comment. but really, please dont waste the money on a type r when about 50$ more can you get so much better quality.

It depends on what your goals are. The R will take a dump on the SE in terms of SPL, with the SE taking a dump on the R in terms of SQ.

Had a Type R 12 and an SE 12 on an Arc Audio 600w amp. The Type R beat it in SPL and SQ. Both were in a sealed 1 cubic ft box. I stuck them in a ported box and the SE owned the type R like there was no tomorrow.

i have some 12" type r's hooked up in my ride right now to a jl 1000v2...its sounds pretty sick and bumps pretty hard but i think im going to upgrade them to some type x's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Not really an upgrade if youre looking to bump pretty hard. Get some more power for the r's

That's why I was hoping bumpin Buick would get a 15R for great 15 challenge.
Lotta hurt feelings woulda came from R takin over some companies $200 more sub in SPL

The draw back is that the soft parts aren't too strong:laugh:
