Redo the box first. By the sounds of it, the box is the main issue holding these subs back.so you think a bigger amp will make the whole thing better?? even though his box is tiny, not tuned correctly and dont have the adequate air space?
thank you, but he does want to upgrade to something with more bass. thats why i was thinking two CVR 12s with the correct box and a larger ampWhy does everyone say it's the amp? Likely it's a poorly made box for those subs so remake the box for said subs and then see how it works. It's much less expensive.
You said you had limited space. Theres not much you can sure you can build a better box how much is that going to help with only 90 watts?
read a little plzhttp://www.kicker.com/comp_vt
my buddys currently running two crappy jl 12s, and i was wondering if these would be an upgrade?
ive never heard any shallow mount subs, is there a difference between them and regular subs sound wise?
the subs he is currently running are

and hes got them in a shitty prefab box with an amp givin them each 90 watts lol...
so i figured if i can get him to grab the kickers above, and get a box on the forums, and a new amp his system will be ALOT better
First step IMO and definitely least expensive is to build a new box. Not very hard to do so, I can draw up plans and send them to you for free if you'd like, given some dimensions to work with.thank you, but he does want to upgrade to something with more bass. thats why i was thinking two CVR 12s with the correct box and a larger amp
