Well considering this is an amp chassis that won’t require tooling, looks like it hasn’t been used before, looks pretty nice, has good heat sinks, and is reasonably priced at least that takes a large hurtle out of the process... Don't expect an amp though for a LONG time...

Well I stopped putting all our eggs in one basket some time ago... The Alpha is being done by one company, the Omega by another and the Delta we are simply getting parts from all over the world including locally and assembling them in NC. At least this way one of them should work out, right? (This is also why I'm starting to look at amps this early... It takes SO long to get a product to market when it is the first time...)

Also, I hate the idea of having a preorder; it is simply too risky for everyone if something does go wrong. I’m just going to dig into college money and pay for tooling and a rather large sample batch to prove the product and confirm their lead times for the Omega.

Saying things will be done by one date (because they ought to be), something happening, and they aren't done by that date when no one has put any money in is one thing... It is a pain and people get frustrated including me... Sure the products will end up costing about 20-30% more without a preorder (the order quantity will be smaller) but at least I won't have anyone else's money tied up if something goes wrong...
