Anyone put a sub in the rear deck between the 6x9s?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone on here has ever put a sub in the rear deck between the 6x9s?

This way, you would not lose any trunk space, and a single 10" would fit perfectly between the two 6x9s - and you would get better "sound" and not have to turn it up as loud with the sub being inside the car and not in the trunk.

Anyone? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Thanks as always!

LOL,

No, you would still put it in a box, the box would just hang down under the rear deck in the trunk area with a brace or something...

There has to be a way to do it.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

It has to sound better that way than being in the trunk... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

It'd take some work to get the rear deck all sealed up, but it could work with the use of a baffle board. It couldn't handle much power since it'd be running IB. Don't expect extreme output, more like a nice low-end to round out the sound of your system.

y don't u just upgrade grade Ur speakers and amp em wit more bass?
I am, I am in the process of upgrading all of the speakers and amping them...

I was also going to put in a 12" sub and amp it in the trunk...

I just think that putting a 10" sub in the rear deck and amping it would sound a lot better.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

And leave the trunk, and trunk floor free...

I run four 10's IB in the rear deck with a single 5x7 for rear fill in the middle. Also have a 5x7 in the dash for center channel, and 6.5's in the kick panels. Doesn't take much power to run an IB setup, I have 50 on each 10 and can drive them fairly well. They are lower powered 10's, but the QTs and Fs specs looked good for IB, and they were inexpensive. My rear deck is topped with 3/4 inch MDF, and I have a panel behind the rear seat as well. All leaks between the trunk and cabin were sealed with body putty... I originally ran two 12's behind the seat before I built the rear deck, and it kept bowing the rear deck really hard...

What is IB? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

And, have any pics? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

So, if I put a 10" sub (or even an 8") in the rear deck, I don't need to put it in a box?

Or am I not reading that link right?
