Just got a new 06 mazda3 2.3S Sedan. It's pretty loaded and has the bose 6cd changer sound system with it. I think the bose is OK, imaging is great for stock. I think they sound a little hollow and are definately lacking the low end grunt. I'm used to the sound in my old car though (eclipse 5443, idmax12, LPG tweet, scanspeak 6" midbass, usamps 5600x). I don't really feel like tearing apart the whole car to put new speakers in though. I may dampen the doors and treat them with some closed cell foam to flatten out the hollow-ness. I will definately put the idmax 12" or a smaller 10". There is no way I'm putting in a new head unit. The stock dash looks like it could get messy with a kit, plus I don't want to lose all the steering wheel controls, etc etc. Has anyone mess with these cars as far as putting new systems in them? Can the bose speakers improve with extra deadening etc?
