Anyone not impressed with CDT Classic comps? what did i do wrong?

if you did, didnt you think there was something missing????, like maybe some midbass????

& the upper midrange isnt punchy or very tonality balanced unless you cross them over around 100 or higher!!

I get plenty of mid bass and some lower bass, enough to feel it in my pants.

I listen to some drum and bass with just the mids on

I've ran all kinds of mids, in all kinds of cars and I like these the most

so you are getting midbass & sometimes lower bass from those mids without a sub on??

I have been using the Cdt CL 6.5" comps and they have much better sound quality IMO compared to most of the brands i have had in the past like Infinity, polk, kicker.

The vifa/cdt mids are really nice in the midrange department,but they lack that midbass that have you craving for more ,more & more.What im saying dollar for dollar you can spend your money on like ID,Hertz comps etc... & you will much more happier in the long run.

Found your problem:

6x8 mid driver vs 5.25" mid driver. You are looking at a MASSIVE loss of cone area.

some people like em, and some dont. some people think focal is the Sh!t, while others hate the harshness of them. everyone has a taste for music. i used to have the HD-62s with the 560i xover in a really deadened door and the midbass was very much so present. it actually didnt have my taste of midrange but it was a very good driver and sounded quite well..

like i said, everyone has a taste

I agree with the guy above they have good midbass even my cl-62CF's in non deaden or non sealed door HP on the HU at 125 and 200 at the amp still have good midbass for that range, although the midrange lacks has more than enough higher range midrange the lower midrange lacks the vocal part deff lacks maybe i need another EQ to get that 500-2k range out of them idk.

^^if you have to EQ everthing then you need to look @ your install.

But the midrange or midbass in those lower line Cdt's aern't that clean to me.

I think onlt Cdt mids that are nice sounding are the es-6 2009 model & es-07

if you need to eq, then you probably have speakers inside a car.

i have the tw-24s tweeters, little harsh to me for being a silk... sound decent- not great... but for $50 on an open box deal it was not too bad. finally blew them after i started sending 300 watts to each of my doors lol

them **** mpyres will handle all of it too, op you may want to look into those....
