Anyone mess with the ipad yet ??

Im thinking about buying one and they have an adaptor to use a USB thing with the 30 pin connector at the bottom. Im wondering if i would be able to use an external hard drive with it and just buy a smaller hard drive one.

A friend from school got one for free (he works for a company that works for apple) and i've played around with. It's really fun cuz everything is just big and there. He says that now he uses his ipad more than his macbook to go on the internet and check his things.

Thats what id use it for, Im going to get rid of my laptop cuz im tired of having windows vs. itunes problems and get a mini mac for my room and just use the ipad as a laptop. Id still keep my itouch though.

ipad has adaptors to use USB and SD if im not mistaken, i know the USB for sure.

ID rather have one with the adaptor so when im not using it i can toss the adaptor on the desk and not have an extra hole in the side of my pad.

No calling ability yet, but 3G capability if you pay the extra $.

They are fun, but the lack of a physical keyboard could make long emails tedious.

On caraudioforum dot com they showed an install with an iPad as the headunit in a Toyota. Looked good, and had to be fun to mess with. They ran it to a processor and tahdah.

Yup, and frankly, since I have a laptop for trips...I'd probably still prefer a touch for convenience and ease of travel.

Though an iPad for the car would be good for 20+hour drives.

I have a 60gb and like it so far. Will be glad to get the new update this summer to support multi-tasking. Right now, only one thing at a time, just like iphone
