Happy Meals are now illegal!

87% of people in that county oppose the bill, and yet they still passed it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

This is an example of a county government taking a way too liberal viewpoint on their right/power to make health-based choices for citizens. Its similar to the seatbelt/helmet laws. Clearly the govt forcing its will upon its citizens on a personal decision, but the excuse was insurance costs. Once the government starts regulating health-care, whats to stop them from illegalizing anything they deem unhealthy?

Frankly Im shocked that even a local California faction of the govt thinks it has the right to regulate how fat our children have the right to be. And to make such a bold move against individual rights over such a stupid law is amazingly dumb of them. Who here thinks illegalizing happy meals will make any difference in this country's obesity issue? lol

I think its sad when parents with bad eating habits pass those down to their kids. Not fair for them from the start.
It is sad. But you fix this problem through education, not removing rights from everyone that only a select few are using in an unhealthy manner. There's a alot of unhealthy things in our lives, if we let the govt start telling us we cant have them anymore because they make us fat, where will they stop?

I think they should remove the amount of caloric intake that they feed kids in schools under the goverment subsidised meal plans. If the little fuckers want food, let them eat a fucking salad instead of high calorie foods like mac & cheese, hamburgers with high saturated fat, and assorted low quality low cost low protein foods they they feed them now. At least they're making progress removing high calorie softdrinks.
