Anyone live around Ann Arbor, MI?

Why are you guys calling it A2? And I'd be going for my MBA right after I get my BBA, so that's encouraging to hear about the recruiting that's going on. I don't know though, I really need to visit the school...I just don't know when I could.

Two thirds of the Michigan graduates leave the state. I suppose they call it A2 because of the two A's in the name. You'd think with such an academcially gifted school they could do better.

What kind of city is A2? More urban than the feeling of a smaller isolated town?

Anyone? Please keep in mind I'm coming from growing up in a small Texas town all of my life, and am basically making this on a blind decision. yes more urban. lots of fun things to do there. lots of very interesting shops to visit. a lot of surrounding cities with stuff worth doing also. you will not be bored if that's the question.

Yeah, that's kind of the problem that I have at Texas A&M. It's a town of like 60k, with 56k of it being the college. So it's pretty much a strip of 6 bars, frat parties, and land parties...yeah, that's about it.

Ann Arbor is almost a suburb of Detroit, and Detroit is the 10th largest metro area so it's basically urban. My sister went to Michigan. She was more concerned with academics but she said she liked it. She however lived in Detroit and actually commuted to school. She said it was cheaper that way.

Well trust me, academics is the only reason I'm considering going there. If I just wanted to party, I'd pay in-state tuition and goto UT (#3 party school in the country). But it's the fact that Michigan is consistently in the top 5 for MBA programs out of EVERYONE in the country, that draws me in.

My sister got her MBA, and immediately got a good paying job right out of college. She wanted to stay in Michigan, but could've got a better job out of state.
