Yeah I typed it wrong;)

Xmax is the stable linear cone movement max. right.

Well what I need to know is what is the Max before it hurts anything mechanical in the sub?? Isnt that the Xmech of the sub??? Thats what I need to know:D

Yes, that's the Xmech.

Simple way to find out. Go outside, take your subwoofer out of the enclosure. Reconnect the subwoofer directly to the amplifer, then turn up the volume until you start hearing "thwap thwap thwap thwap", and then measure how far the subwoofer's moving when this happens. There's your Xmech.

Okay, seriously do not try that.

Why not just e-mail or call Kicker? Or wait around and see if Polecat pops in.

Why do you need to know?, jw

Designin enclosure and want to go as Big as I can to get excursion but not where at my power level its gonna go 20-25mm and tear itself apart, but want to go more then Xmax obviously which is only 13.2mm.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

You don't need to know Xmech to design an enclosure. You really don't want to exceed Xmax unless you are doing SPL competitions.

If you build a very efficient enclosure and have a powerful amplifier...just turn the amplifier/volume down some. It'll be obvious once you have the sub up and running how much is too much.
