Anyone know Japanese?

Has anyone tried to learn Japanese? I think it is quite difficult. The military is teaching me via these rosetta stone online classes. I was wondering if anyone had some experience as the lessons ****. A book or website explaining wtf is going on may help.

I work for DoD as an financial anaylst. Don't know what you mean by golf.

I saw that Japanese-learning site. I was kind of afraid of viewing at work as it has 'personal' ads on the sidebar.

It is...it looks as if they have many more words that we do as the words change depending on what you are describing. Thanks for the props, it will help as I grow frustrated.

Maybe not translating, but hopefully I'll get to pcs over there and get me some foreign booty or something. More importantly, I want to see the world from a different persepctive than Nashville, TN.

Bonus is less too. It is not a "immediate investment" strategic language. Plus there are no Korean resturants here. I think it would be cool to go to a japense resturant and be able to "somewhat" speak their language. I don't think they would hate because I would be trying...

After two weeks of practicing this language I got some of the basics down but a long, long way to go. I don't know if I can be fluent without living there. I got colors, numbers, and people down pretty well. I would do a lot better if I had a teacher instead of doing it online.
