Anyone know anything about exotic birds?

I have sun conure. Much smarter and more personable then the cockatoo. But they cost more.
sun conure more than a sulfer crested cockatoo:wow:

my dad and his wife are parrot breeders, what exactly do you need to know?

Conures are great birds, so are Jardines. Cockatoos are good birds also, but i would take an African grey if you like talking birds, they tend to bond to only one person tho. Macaws are cool but can be very costly

From what I've seen Cockatoos are very high maintenance attention wise....

We have a Cockatiel and a Parakeet right now, and just got rid of 2 African Ringneck Parrots (?) I think they were, just because they were noisy and messy.

Cockatiels are pretty cheap, and if you buy them as a baby you can get them tame enough, ours will sit on your shoulder or head and he will jump on your finger. He also can say his name, but I don't think that is very common.

My gf has a cockatiel and it is very friendly towards us but not with strangers. It is less than a year old and can sing the andy griffith theme song and say quite a few words. Very fun bird with a good personality. However if you don't show him attention regularly he will get mad and scream all the time.

its name is Colonel and is absolutely huge....has talons that are razor sharp and bites things in half....its cool though....louder than shit.....cool to hang out with but id never own it

I like the look of the Blue front Amazon, but she wants something like a Cockatoo or Macaw. I REALLY want a Macaw, but they aren't as laid back as a cockatoo. I have 2 breeders that have blue and golds, and scarlet macaws right now. The Cockatoo is actually costing more because I have not found a breeder that knows the breeders I do. The Cockatoo is costing $1100, but will be weaned. Bones, what do they breed?

right now they have Jardines, 3 types of Amazons, Greys, couple Macaws, bunch of cockatiels, budgies and love birds

Naw not army. I have Ft Benning here though. 3rd ID just got back as well. Car audio picked up here ALOT.

One breeder I know, I can grab a 12 week old Macaw for $675, blue and gold that is. I really want to kick her @ss for wanting a Cockatoo for the price factor haha.

$675 is a steal for a good bird. I was stationed at Benning years ago, spent lots of time in Columbus
