anyone into R/C?

yeah its a expensive hobby but id have to say its more rewarding than car audio IMO. ive spent well over $1500 on the plane, the parts, the radio, the engine and all the feild equipment needed. and seeing the local guys with their planes with 10 foot wingspans 33cc engines that they modded off weedeaters or giant b-17s with 4 engines and can drop firecrackers...OMG! it just makes you wanna cry

the most impressive car i have ever seen was a custom made one with 3 turbines, he started slow then gunned it, it flew down the street then litteraly flew into a tree...so funny yet so sad.

crazy props to any heli pilots out there...that stuff is crazy hard

not too many boats down here, there isnt really a good place to run em

I still have an older RC-10 (team assosciated) and a new model as well. Been doing R/C stuff for a few years now myself. I liek the Losi stuff as well, but currently have none. Hell... I still have a fully running Grasshopper from way back in the day... lol Not gotten into Boats or Planes yet, but one of these days I think I might. Too little time anymore for even the cars.... and I have maybe a thousand or two dumped into each one....

I have enough parts in a box to build two Traxxas T-Maxxs...the original ones. Also have the stock .15 engine along with an O.S. .26 four-stroke that I was using in it for awhile. Fun things, but I haven't touched them in about 4 years.

Pops has an A.E. T3 that's just collecting dust in the closet...too bad there isn't a big enough scene back home... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

the only scene around here is planes...everything else you on your own for, which sucks because planes are fun but u know id like to try new things

my biggest prob with planes is...u screw up once u are out atleast the price of the plane...maybe a engine and servos...gets expensive

I think that is partially why I have avoided that arena to date. I just know I would dump a fortune into a plane and crash it the first time out. Cars and trucks are badass though! I have been condsidering getting the new RC10T4 truck.... running the buggies now since ummmm late 1980's.... maybe early 90's... but it is fun to do either way...

no boat guys here?
im in the process of finishing a 43" Miller American hydroplane with a .60 OPS nitro engine thats rated at 5hp @around 30,000 rpm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

my dad has a 46" prather gas boat thats quite modified, we also have a nitro powered F-15, a trainer plane, misc small boats, a couple cars, and a heli that i decided to take apart when i was like 11 and has been like that since.

i had a duratrax max ST that we cut all metal gears on the cnc for the ******, that thing was a blast even tho it only did like 25
I got the Prather 30CC HP engine Homelite. Not very reliable at all. I've had to send it in twice for repairs if my memory serves correct. First the head clogged up, 2nd the head cracked and no I wasn't running it lean, It always had a slight brown on the spark plug.

BH Hanson makes excellent zenoah engines at a good price that put out good power. Would get one except I've become pretty cheap. I spend most of my money on college, insurance, gas registeration and try to save for a downpayment on a house which realistically isn't possible in my area with housing prices (I'd have to save over $50k) but something is better than nothing.

my first day on the feild some guy was bringing his trainer in for a landing, he caught a bad cross wind and wasnt exp. enough to compensate correctly, he nearly took the club founders head off haha he smashed it into a the club cabin which has metal bars around it, poor guy watched his plane become splinters in a matter of seconds... he got pretty close to crying, had to feel for him, haha its was like we had a moment of silence for the guy...haha im pretty sure he is flying warbirds now (not a easy task, and my goal to fly a p-51 with 10ft wingspan) so hes doen ok...in car audio terms it would be the equvilant or me blowing my subs and amp and having my box blown apart...id cry like a baby

I think I would do the same... in EITHER circumstance. Money has become pretty tight, which I am not used to around here... so that kind of money into a plane that died... would kill me... at least for a moment or two. Now... if my car audio blew at all... well I would have to kill someone... and that would be the end of that! LOL

*side note:... what part of Louisiana are you from? I am originally from Nawlins, but am up in WI now
