anyone into minitrucks??

I'm a car lover in general. I've always loved the look of a well-done mini, although I never got into them myself. American quality sux, but I must say that the best base for a mini truck that I've seen is a Chevy S10. Beautiful lines and perfectly suited for the mini, dropped look.

Mazda? Eh... Ford? Fcuk ugly... Nissan? Meheh... Toyota? Hmmm... Dodge? Wha'? noway.

 
I've got an S-10 I'd like to fix up and put all my ideas into motion this summer. Which means get rid of all the rust and paint it, with flames. But then I do ALL the work myself, so finding time is a different story.

 
I have an 86 Toyota....its bagged, shaved handles-antenna-mirrors. 92 yota bumper and grille. 6 3/8" valves 1/2" line 1/2" bags, forward 4-link bags on axle, 17" eclipse wheels. More stuff but yeah...ill post a pic.

i use to be into minitrucks....i had a 93 yota, bagged, shaved, 18s, and i currently have a 95 ranger that was dropt but i took everything off a few months ago. around here "minitruckers" are all assholes and make everything into a competition, and run there mouth about anything that is lowered or bagged, and to avoid getting physical with someone i steered away from it and went strictly with car audio and now im getting more into homeaudio now.

 
I just sold my 88 Nissan Hardbody that was baggd with a 3" bodydrop

I have an 86 nissan hardbody, and I was wondering how you lowered the front. Did you use drop spindles?

Also I believe there is a torsion bar on the front end, is possible to lower the truck by just twisting those somehow?

 
I have a 98 s-10 with the zq8 suspension as a secondary vehicle. I have been contemplating a V8 swap for it. My first vehicle was a 90 isuzu pu and i got into minitruckin then and started customizing it. but as far as my S-10 goes it is just a means of transportation with 167,000 mi and its 2nd 4.3l v6. But I must say the zq8 susp handles like no other. I do all my own maint on it and will probably keep it for a while. You never know I may turn it into a drag truck.

just loosen the torsion bolt, its underneath the door behind the frame IIRC

You can lower them with the torsion bars but I would recomend spindles, especially if you want to lower them a lot. I lowerd my 90 isuzu with the torsion bars like 3" and it was very bouncey and you could not aligne it for shit. A couple of inches or less with the torsion bars is a cheap way to get an idea of wat you might like.
