Anyone into home made portable boom boxes?

I'm thinking of building a portable boom box using one of these Dayton Audio bluetooth amp boards and maybe some 4 inch full range drivers with some 3 1/2 inch passive radiators. Probably going to use either walnut or maghogany.

ive been looking for vintage non-working guitar amplifiers and stacks to turn into portable hifi systems, if that counts.

Yea that counts. I wish I knew how to fix amps.

I love the plug and play ability of the Dayton amp boards. I've only cared about bass until this project so I've been trying to learn more about mids and highs. I figured it would be easier (and cheaper) to use a full range speaker rather than a mid/tweet/crossover.

i prefer assembled class a/b amp modules off ebay,.. multiple small boards with the right power supply and a pair of 3way active crossover modules can do some pretty nifty things using a tablet with an equalizer app.

get a 12 to 24 volt rechargable lithium ion battery bank, power supply, on off switch and the 100 x 4 watt amp with bluetooth module off ebay and you can do whatever 4 drivers you want.
