Anyone here running Zuki amps?

There are definitely some strong opinions about these amps from those that own them especially on diyma. Its not an amp I would consider owning nor do I care about them but I do enjoy reading the heated arguments that arise out of this very topic.

IMO its an amp. Nothing more nothing less. Sure maybe it 'adds' something to the sound but that isnt what I am looking for out of my amplification. We all know its not revolutionary yet it seems to have a cult following like its the best thing since sliced bread. For the price point I am guessing it is a nice amplifier for those that want that extra something or magic or whatever but hey to each their own.

Well after seeing it is just a standard A/B design, and after the hype making it seem like there was something revolutionary under the heatsink....

Zuki could have avoided all this by having this amps tested and rate

the product accordingly. It was human perception that created the hype

because they expected 20 watts and probably heard what appears to

be a 500w amp design if not more. This created an aura of magic SQ that fooled

these people.

I have no problems with Zuki or his amp because I have a better understanding,

but it still is fun to make some cartoons of the situation.

Hypothetical. If you had a choice to receive one of these for free, which one would you

take ? No trick questions. Any answer given is correct.

It may not add anything, that is what I was guessing from what I have heard since I have no experience with them.

I would take the Genesis just because I am fully aware of what it is capable of.

What kind of test results are you looking for? I have never tested one so I have no idea but I have personally heard one and was happy with the way it sounds. Note I have no problems at all with Zuki its just not an amp for me because I have never heard one. If I knew someone that had one it may change my mind but I am not going to buy something that I have not heard based on internet hype.

Also note that I would not personally buy the Genesis either for the money. I am of the belief that with proper install and tuning that within reason a quality amp will sound like any other quality amp.

You can show me specs and graphs and all that jazz and it wont mean anything to me in my install. Even personal experience with someone else's setup cant be the end all be all since install and tuning can never be duplicated but you have to start somewhere.

There were rumors that Scott designed & built them. Supposedly Patrick (Zuki) and Scott are friends, and Fi used some Zuki amps in a demo car or something along those lines.

But nothing conclusive and no one with actual knowledge (particularly Scott &/or Patrick) has stated such.

As far as the amps go.....no thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I'm sure they are great amps that "sound" (heh..) wonderful. However I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.
