I have a Ducati 900ss and a Ducati 750ss.

To whoever said the 14 > Ducati *chuckle* Yeah, ok. Sure...it is faster (almost all of the japenese bikes are) but that is what you get when you throw a ton of horsepower under a bunch of plastic //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Build quality on Ducks are excellent. I will 2nd and 3rd the 650 suzuki. Very VERY good first bike.

This is the 750

If you wreck at almost any speed on a bike you are very likely to be gone. Guy died here in columbus doing 50 mph. Fell off and got run over. Then again he was riding when it was WAY too cold and most likely cramped up.

Bikes don't ****, idiot riders do.

Take your classes, learn how to ride, be smart (ride in a pack, etc.) be defensive and don't show off, you will be just fine.

I like Ducati's my main gripe with them is the relatively high maintenance cost they have when compared to the Japanese manufacturers.

Maintenance is almost insane! 1800 for the big tune-up. Good tip is to find a local ducati club and they will almost always have a mechanic lined up. I got my tune-up done for 600.

But yes, you do pay a good amount for them on upkeep.

My plan is next April to get this for my birthday present to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

x2. i refuse to ride in wet or harsh weather conditions. i see a lot of riders that arent wearing protective gear as much and continue to ride like a nut. what makes it more difficult is the other cars on the road as well. i frequent bayarearidersforum a lot and hear many stories about how a rider died due to another vehicle not seeing him/her.

i had a gsxr 1000 fully yoshimira everything.. pipe, cam, engine manegment.. lowerd it 2 inches, had a custom paint job.... had to sale it after a year of owning it due to high insurance...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif miss it allot!
