Anyone here mod amps? (MMATS D300HC)

Just curious if anyone here mods amps? I have a D300HC that I know can be modded to 1ohm stable. I was thinking about getting it done but MMATS has terrible customer service so I really don't want to send it to them to be done.

Are there any other mods that can be done to make this amp better? Are there any other benefits to the 1ohm mod? Does it change the 2ohm load power?

MMATTS / KB Audio were the best at modding these amps, Ive had like 3-4 of these amps and loved them.

I've owned mine forever...I think I got it in 1999.....LOVE IT and will never get rid of it. It puts out plenty of power at 2ohm I was just curious on what can be done to the amp to make it better. Also wanting to know what the cost would be to mod it.

IIRC it was like 70 bucks to mod them, it installs a capacitor inside the amp somewhere

I got a d200 as well, and when I talked to MMats about having it modded, they said that model could not be done. Kinda sucks, cause I blew it and it needs repair anyway. They want a bill just to look at it. So now its just sitting...

call back and ask for john. I had a 50hc and they swapped out the board for the modded 300hc

When they mod those amps they take off the protect circuit so if you don't have the proper current it will fry the amp at 1 ohm so be careful.I had a modified d300hc and it would ****ing fry if I dropped it to 1 ohm.I think the modified 1400.2 can do 1 ohm daily but the d300hc is 1 ohm for burps with proper current.

i had 2 1400.2s modded and they ran cool 1ohm all day

iv ran my 2200.1 at halfa ohm and .25 a couple of times.... no problems at all....
