Anyone have shin splint problems?

Ice them. Freeze water in paper/foam cups... peel away the top part of the cup, proceed to ice your shins.
And what DBfan said.
This works well.

Heat before exercise and ice after. Be ginger on it after you ice it as tissue will be contracted and you don't want to tear it up.

Shoes with a softer midsole help as well.

"Shin splints" is a pretty general term though. Could be quite a few things going on there. Most likely just an overuse type of thing, though.

yep I had it horrible when I was younger, I would go running in my MX boots to break the in, DUMB idea, shin splints for the next 10+ years

gl I never got releif, I just quit jogging

You can also stand on your heels and lift your toes up. Like a lifting exercise. This will strengthen everything in there up.

If it's all inflamed right now, I wouldn't do that yet, though. But it'll help strengthen stuff up and keep it from happening again once you can start doing it.
