Anyone have problems shipping a battery?

Its right on the form. They are more picky if it goes air (a truck blows up, oh well... planes are a different story). Small heavy stuff might make them ask questions.

But kinetik doesnt have them because they are a group 60, which means they are not hazardous.

That goes for every sealed batt I think, I know it does for at least kinetik. They do not need any special documentation or anything like that.

You are right about sealed lead acid batteries being exempt, couldn't find the documentation on UPS.

It is not because they are Group 60 (that is more of a battery size designation, like Optima being a group 34 for example).

FedEx Ground goes by size unless the package exceeds 70lbs.

A 1 pound ground package to zone 2 (think Southern California to Arizona, the next state over) costs $3.62, a 69 pound package costs $11.92. No mention at all of OS1, OS2, or OS3 in that price (the oversized packaging). Shipping is by weight. You must be thinking that if a box is big enough, the clip you the same price (a box that is the size of a 4 drawer filing cabinet could be packed with packing peanuts and will probably be a OS3 (the biggest oversized they take) and they will charge you the same if it weighs 1 pound or 90 pounds (they charge you a 90 pound rate since on average a they can get about 90 pounds worth of boxes in the same space so they want to be sure they don't have a box take up valuable space in a truck).
