600 amps (max) of supply will sustain a 1000 amp draw? I agree you have a well above average charging system, but even yours would require some stereo-off engine-on time to recharge the batts once in a while. By the way that is 3000 watts at 2ohms per amp. Proabably pull around 200 amps or so each amp. Also I will not be running full tilt for hours at a time. Gains will be down most of the time. Just the occasional show off,demo and competition.

And how do you explain your 130 amp alt keeping up with over 800 amps of draw "for good stretches of time"?

Yeah, I had a 130amp alt with a Yellow Top and the big-3 upgraded and my headlights would dim just pushing ~1500RMS. Multiply that by eight? No way.
