Haha I did the same thing in my bedroom when I first moved away for school (I had a baseball scholarship at a juco by STL so we rented a townhouse because they didn't have dorms there). But then when I transfered to Eastern Illinois I got conned into the apt with no windows and I couldn't stand the lack of sunlight. It's so much better to have the option of no sunlight then to be forced into living in darkness all year //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.giflol i blocked out my windows in my room to help insulate it a bit.... its dark. lol.
lol. i'm in a cinder block room. about 500 sq feet. bathroom (small but full), kitchen, and its pretty big actually.... only have a 6000 btu window AC and since insulation in this thing is pretty much non-existant.... its 85.5 in here right now lol. I blocked out the windows and put 3 diff types of weather stripping up around the door and its helped cool it down a few degrees but not enough... gonna go get me a 10-12K btu unit next week //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifHaha I did the same thing in my bedroom when I first moved away for school (I had a baseball scholarship at a juco by STL so we rented a townhouse because they didn't have dorms there). Definitely get involved. Studies show that students who are active in their school are much less likely to drop out/leave school or be put on academic probation //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif There are always free events/food for freshmen. GO.get involved in all the activities you can. always look for free food. just be active and dont sit around all the time.
unless it's a flatscreen TV of course. My mom just bought me rockband for my 360...and while I'm excited...theirs a lot of shit to that game. The drums are big....Definitely get involved. I would also recommend leaving the big TV, stereo, drum set //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif, whatever you have that's loud, big, or both at home. Space is at a premium in a dorm room.
Good luck!
