Anyone have any experience building computers?

Just a couple of things:
1) I wouldn't touch a motherboard w/ electrolytic capacitors these days. Solid state capacitors have a much longer lifespan, tolerate heat better, and are more stable, so not only will your motherboard last longer, but you'll also get more overclocking headroom.

2) I would consider upgrading to 8 GB of RAM if you're into RTS games. Games like Supreme Commander will eat up all the RAM you have and, w/ DDR2 prices being very reasonable, now is a good time to buy ... Intel will be switching to DDR3 later this year and AMD will be switching to DDR3 in 2009, so prices on DDR2 will be going up.

For your mother board i woudl go with the

Intel BOXDX38BT LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX DDR3 Intel Motherboard - recomended by new eg and available as a combo deal.

I got a Corsair power supply HDX 620 watt they are like $120

good choice on evrything else.

That motherboard is a little to pricey

I am looking for one in the $100-120 range

and I cant find that corsair power rsupply on newegg

Where did you get it?

Nope never before.
Is there anything I should know? Cant wait to get this stuff and start putting it together!
Yes, go slowly, double check your work. Be careful of static discharge (use a ground strap or wear shoes while doing it) but don't go to the point of thinking that if any static hits it, it is dead. Just be careful. Also, put the risers (for under the motherboard) on every hole that the motherboard can support. Multi-layer boards can be damaged by too much pressure in certain spots. Make sure it is being balanced like it should be but do not put them in places where the riser is just sitting on the board.

and another question before I order. This case will be able to fit everything no problem right?

That case should work just fine. Looks to have plenty of room.

I couldn't agree more on the PSU speech. PSU is very important. I think the Antec he choose is a very good unit. As I stated above, there are better, but he picked a good one.
I was giving my opinion based on real world usage on XP vs. Vista. My current pc running both Vista and XP Dual core X2 4800 2gb ram raptor drive 7900gt. I lost 25fps on bf2 and crysis was near unplayable. Also, I had to underclock my video card just get it to work on Vista.

Even on the quad core system, Vista had too many errors. It has the possibility of being a good OS, but I just see it being another ME *shrug*.

Both of my computers were limited by the video card though, you are going with one of the better cards out there. Vista may run as Jmac stated.
I'll throw another vote in for a good power supply...

I spent a pretty penny on a solid Enermax power supply in 2002 for a computer I built. It's been on nearly 24/7 ever since with up-times as high as 90-days at a time with no re-boots -- it pretty much gets turn off when I move the system or need to re-boot for an update, thats about it.

Went through 3 cheap PSUs in less than a year in the computer I had before that.

It is a good power supply, but reasoning do you have for him spending an additional 20 bucks on 20 watts?

X2. When I said there are better I was actually referring to Enermax. Great but pricey.

Screw it I am ordering 8 gigs
Can I order two of these

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231122

The 4 pack cost $260 but its no differn't right?
Eh, not much is going to use 8gb.

Prices are not going back up for awhile. My company makes sputtering targets which actually make RAM and a ton of other electronics. Hynix is buying huge quantities in hopes of making money of off quantity at the moment.

All key indicators say that we are looking at 6-8 months before an increase starts. I'd go with 4gb for now, but that is just me.

Even if I have vista?

tiger direct has 550 w corsair for $99

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3436149&Sku=C13-2501&SRCCODE=GOOGLEBASE&CMP=OTC-GOOGLEBASE

and the 620w is $130 here http://www.provantage.com/corsair-memory-cmpsu-620hx~7CSMC02Y.htm

definitly 4 gigs tops for ram bro, I have 4 gigs and have to do some pretty extensive rendering / modeling work in Modo or solidworks to get these programs to use more than a gig and half of memory. I have never bben close to maxing out with 4 gigs an I use programs that eat this stuff.

Shit you guys type fast, yeah that 600w for 100 is gonna be great.
