anyone have an article on the whole big subs vs sound quality issue?

ok to make a long story short i work with a bunch of morons, i recently got hired at circuit city and my supervisor won't let me in the car audio section because he thinks he knows everything... well we got into an argument today cuz i told him he doesnt know shit and in the argument he tried to tell me that square subs have the best sound quality and kickers L series are the best sub ever made. then he tried to tell me that 15" subs are pointless cuz they are muddy and sound like crap
i already found an article disprovring the square subs comment, if someone can provide me with a technical article or data somewhere that proves 15s and 18s can have just as good if not better sound quality than 10s and 12s i would really appreciate it. im going to print him up a little packet with the fi Q, the icon, the ixl, the havoc, the xxx etc, subs that come in 15's and 18s that have incredible sound quality and give him a packet tell him to read up
tell him it has nothing to do with square or round subs or big or little subs, it has to do with transient response.

print this and give it to him... http://mobile.jlaudio.com/support_pages.php?page_id=147

most of the difference between sound probaly come from the box itself... granted a 18 sub will move more air than say a 15... but a bigger box would also be needed for the 18 for it not to get peaky.. hence giving the illusion the 15 has better SQ

yeah im wondering why a company that just filed bankruptcy is hiring new employees, and why you would get a job at a place that should be closing soon? seems like there isnt much job security there.

only 2 cc's in ohio will be staying open at the moment. all others are closing.

Filing bankruptcy doesn't necessarily mean they'll be closing.

They probably filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which is a reorganizational bankruptcy.

Not a woofer I would consider in the SQ section, but sure that'd probably work.
Find someone local to come by with a nice SQ driver/setup. Doesnt matter though - he'll hear it and say that your hearing is impaired.

Let a local shop take a gander at Three 15" RD HWY's on a bit of power and the man to my face told me he could get Mojo's just as loud //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
unfortunately i think with most car audio people once they are convinced they know everything there is to know... its kind of impossible to prove them wrong, whether they are or not
