ok to make a long story short i work with a bunch of morons, i recently got hired at circuit city and my supervisor won't let me in the car audio section because he thinks he knows everything... well we got into an argument today cuz i told him he doesnt know shit and in the argument he tried to tell me that square subs have the best sound quality and kickers L series are the best sub ever made. then he tried to tell me that 15" subs are pointless cuz they are muddy and sound like crap

i already found an article disprovring the square subs comment, if someone can provide me with a technical article or data somewhere that proves 15s and 18s can have just as good if not better sound quality than 10s and 12s i would really appreciate it. im going to print him up a little packet with the fi Q, the icon, the ixl, the havoc, the xxx etc, subs that come in 15's and 18s that have incredible sound quality and give him a packet tell him to read up

why don't you play a good sounding round 15" sub for him???? actions speak louder then words...

I've heard the same shit a few times, but one demo opens their eyes/ears in a hurry...

Uhh.

You don't need an article.

40 hz = 40 hz.

As for response, it all depends on the driver. An 8" driver could have a slow response, as could a 22" driver have a fast response. Tell that guy he's dumb, it's all factors of mechanical limitations of the driver. Just read up on mechanical and electrical limitations of drivers and you should be able to school him.

But remember... you're schooling a CC employee (no offense). That's not quite a feat for the most part.

So you are going to school your brand new supervisor at your brand new job because it is important to you that he knows 15" subs are not "muddy"? Good plan.

im doing it to prove him wrong, im doing it because he refuses to put me in the car audio section because he told the GM i don't know anything about car audio... i did my interview with the GM and expressed and interest and knowledge of car audio and hes the one who put me in car audio and then my first day the supervisor put me in MP3's and Ipods...

and since he's the car audio supervisor the GM assumes he knows everything and just took his word for it.

besides... im temporary holiday help and its circuit city, they just filed bankrupcy they aren't going to keep any of the hired help after the holidays...

Not a woofer I would consider in the SQ section, but sure that'd probably work.

Find someone local to come by with a nice SQ driver/setup. Doesnt matter though - he'll hear it and say that your hearing is impaired.

Let a local shop take a gander at Three 15" RD HWY's on a bit of power and the man to my face told me he could get Mojo's just as loud //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Step 1: Buy an MJ18M

Step 2: Put it in a 3.3cf sealed box

Step 3: Throw 800w at it

Step 4: Watch him put his foot in his mouth when he hears an 18 thats punchier than most 10s he's heard.

i had a boss at circuit city just like that guy.

trying to tell me that smaller speakers are better sounding than larger speakers. they are just a bunch of idiots that know how to physically install equipment and how to hook up remote starters and alarms.

they have no idea why a speaker should be chosen over another - they just choose things they assume are the best because of price and company.

Smaller subs are faster and punchier. We all know that. If you play a 50hz test tone, an 8" would really play 51hz and a 15" would reallt play 49hz.
