I'm thinking bout taking some of these as a replacement for actual day to day college attendance.
Question, how did you like the online courses and were they worth the effort to you?
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Dam I hate those. I've had teachers like that before. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gifDepends on the teacher. Some teachers **** at it. Some teachers make it more diffiicult than attending a physical classroom by a whole lot. Currently I'm taking one where the class participation requires you to write 2 papers a week. Then you have HW which is essentially like writing another paper. Then you have the various books that you have to read and weekly links of more reading material. Then you have actual papers due on top of that. But this teacher was on reviewum.com and basically students said she acted like she was teaching an important subject at harvard.
I realize that it takes alot of personal contol and motivation, which is something that I am very very poor at. I learn stuff extremely quickly in the classroom, rarely need to read much of the material unless it seems frivious to me (wrong attitude)Which classes are you looking at taking?
Do you have a lot of self-discipline to get on there and do your readings and do your own learning?
On-line classes can potentially turn out very poorly if you don't put a lot of effort into them, or if you don't work well on your own.
Realize you are also limited by how organized and how good the teacher is. I've had two where I learned very little not because I didn't put the effort in but because the material and assignments were not clearly presented and were often presented in bulk way late so you had to cram to learn the material right before the tests. They sometimes expect you to complete something immediately yet they delay greatly on assigning it.I realize that it takes alot of personal contol and motivation, which is something that I am very very poor at.
