Anyone bag a nice deer yet?

Because I haven't! This weather is ******* stupid, nearly 70* in November! On the colder mornings, I have seen a few bucks and a few doe but nothing crazy. I have ran across the same 140"~ 8pt'er three times but never really had a shot at him. I took one shot at about 20 yards but my arrow stuck right into a tree branch about 10ft in front of the deer. A HUGE open area and he stands right behind a downed tree.

I am in a ground blind at this spot, well, not a ground blind really. I have a folding canvas chair in some 4ft tall grassy junk, works really well though! I had a spike literally get close enough that I could have reached out and touched him if I wanted to and he never seen me. I haven't seen any action at either of my stands yet this year except for beaver, fox and coyote. The tree stand areas are usually good when it is cold as balls and snow on the ground.

Where you get that one at? where do you go to school up here? Kirkwood I assume? MMU maybe?

Anyways... I have a couple thousand acres if you are up this way for shotgun season or have a bow/muzzy tag. I am watching this 140+ 8-pointer but I have yet to get a shot with m bow. Heading out in the morning though and I am feeling good about it! i just wish it would get colder and snow!!! Rut is kicking in good though, should be all kinds of big guys up and running around in the next week or so.

I'm at kirwood mostly but takes a couple classes at Iowa. My family is from the southeast iowa area. About 20 minutes North of Keokuk. West Point if you have any idea where thats at. My family has around 1000 acres about 150 of which is huntable. I only bow hunt and only got 1 tag. One does me more than enough. I get my jerkey and meat for the next year and put another set of antlers up on the wall. Good enough for me.
