Anyne use an analog voltmeter/gauge?

To prevent front battery drain during car-off music playing. With an isolater, should i hook it up to the back then?
yes, but personally I wouldn't play with the car off. Any decent amp will kill a batt or two in no time if you're playing loud bass.

The isolater makes sure that my starter batt doesn't die, and i just use deep cycle batts for the rear.
No biggy right?
Yes that's the correct way to do it, but if you have any kind of power those batts won't last long. Just play with the car on and use all the batts....

actually, there is a better option than analog or digital. the mechanical modular gauges we use in the western stars are pretty freakin fast. and pretty darn accurate. they use a motor and internal controller to position the needle, rather than a magnetic field. i simply went with a plug-in digital and the factory cluster gauge in my tahoe, and compared both vs. my fluke 87 for accuracy. it's nice to see the numbers for quick reading, but the response just doesn't compare to a mechanical. yes, you could beef up the electricl as you should, but it's so much nicer to know the status in real-time to know what is going on with the voltage in the first place. - my $0.02
