You never answered the question about the deposit? I'm about to move into a house and the deposit is 1.5x rent, more than enough to fix most of that damage...

well you must be hiring some dirt cheap illegals to able to fix most of that stuff for 1.5x rent. A broken central air and heat is thousands of dollars alone where i live.... new carpet in my upstairs cost me almost $4k. I know in rentals alot of the time you just throw cheap stuff in but still security deposits are usually for wear and tear, not major damage. People go to claims court all the time. I worked for a property maintenance company and my family has some real estate.

And i know theres always other variables and considerations and sometimes you bite the bill on some stuff... but either way it blows for the op.

Also, it ***** that you helped them out because "they were your homies" but this is how they treat you back.
