Anybody own their own audio shop?

If so, do you make a pretty good income? I know that smaller shops can't compete with places like Cartoys most of the time, but do you still get alot of customers? I was just sitting here and thought that owning my own audio shop might be kinda fun.

A good friend of mine owns his own sound and performance shop. His customers are probrably about 75% car audio/ mutimedia. He does alot of tvs. He started kinda slow like ussual but has picked up alot once he did some bigger systems and got his name out. The problem is with a smaller company to carry high end brands there is a buy in. For Instince to carru JL you need a $12,000 buy in just to sell there products. But he does pretty good.

my dealer is 25 and he just bought an $80,000 car...

he sells only Diamond Audio, but he'll install whatever you got. He's always swamped with work, and on average has 2 $30,000 jobs a month //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Once the word spread on how good he was and how about Diamond, it exploded! He doesn't even have a sign on his window!!!

well currently im working on my bachelors degree in business mgmt and as soon as i get that taken care of i plan on getting my business license and opening my own shop here in the area im in.....
