...i've heard horror stories here in hawaii about upgraded alternaters...there are people here who know what their doing but for the most part everybody doesn't wanna touch an aftermarket alternater with a 10 ft pole...due to the fact that not too many people here have experience with them...

are there any safety pre-cautions that sould be taken when installing an aftermarket alternater???

anybody have a brand alternater that they trust and recommend???

and does anybody know who makes aftermarket alternaters for an x-type jaguar???...i've been looking online but to no avail....

thanks guys. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

My Iraggi Alt on my grand prix has worked flawless for me as well stock alt couldnt handle any of the opti-4000d & 3 highs & Mids amps power pull bolted on the iraggi and upgraded the stocks alt to high current fusebox and ground and added another ground to the frame & have double 0 runs from front to back with a yellow top in trunk and now i have all the power i could ask for so I would recomend IRAGGI for sure man !!

what year are your cars?....a stereo shop told me that upgraded alternaters don't work well with newer cars because of all the electrical gadgets they put in cars now days....i thought that was bogus but i wanna upgrade my alternater in a Jaguar and i just wanna be safe...

they're idiots.

if anything it would help all the new cars, with the amount of computerized things in newer cars putting a larger strain on the electrical system why not relieve that stress by creating more current and more power to drive the rest of your car?

so many people try to say that the alternators are too large and they'll damage the electrical system, the car will only generate the power that it needs, whether it be a 300amp draw from the stereo, or 20amps to keep the engine going. you obviously just need an alternator built to provide the power.

dom owes me $400... dont mess with iraggi... got a bad alt sent it back and over four months later still no money or alt or even a email or phone call return... contact a custom alt maker... they can turn you up one... a few are talked about in other threads.... if you dont feel like giving away hundreds dont waste your time with iraggi

hahahaha...now this is funny. Sorry umm but i just had my mechanic install mine yesterday. I drive home..my whole system went up in smoke. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif . then your "mechanic" fucked up

ive been running a 200 amp alt in my 2002 mustang for about a month and a half so far... no problems and my car has been running great

obviously, with an upgraded alternator, you must also upgrade the (+) wire from the alternator to the battery, the (-) wire from the engine to the chassis, and the (-) wire from the chassis to the battery.... i used dual 1/0 runs just for the hell of it...

if you try to pass the higher current that can be output from your upgraded alternator through the stock wires, they can catch on fire
