Did you ever hear the Brahma? I don't know if it was the sub, or the sonotube, or the combination of both, but it was rediculous. And like I said, dude said he had it way down so it didn't overpower his 100k front end in his home theatre. That experience hooked me on home audio... unfortunately I don't have that kind of money so I stick to two channel stuff at home, mostly vintage...

Those Brahma's were beasts. I had the pleasure of hearing a 15" I believe in a diy sonotube in a home theatre setup when Adire was still in business and it was absolutely jaw dropping... and he said it was dialed WAY WAY back so it didn't overpower the 35,000.00 a piece left, right, and center channel speakers. Guy was a FIREMAN of all things... I guess they make better money than I thought they did. Best home theatre system I've ever heard, by far. Opening of Saving Private Ryan I was dodging bullets and explosions. I'd say he had an easy 200k in his home theatre, which isn't a LOT for that crowd, but it's the best I've ever heard.

Sorry man, just so many rich people on audio forums that a poor piece of white trash like myself is defensive. There are guys on my 2 channel and home theatre forums that think the starting point for a decent system is around 800,000 to 1,000,000. No shit. I have Pioneer 80's vintage HPM-900s running off late 70's or early 80's silver face Kenwood shit and a cheap DVD player for a source in my 2 channel system and you can hear the sweat drip off of David's balls when he sings "home, home again. I like to be here when I can..." Yes, I am one of those nuts that has everythng vibration damped, including the wire running to the speakers...

How would he go about building them for you? There is nothing in the ad that says a facility is for sale, tooling, manufacturing equipment, or even the design plans for the MKII Brahma.

What's for sale now appears to be so stripped down as to realistically only be marketable to previous competitors, who wish to use the name brand. The only big question in my mind is what is the status of the xbl^2 patents. But even if it/they are included, if the new owner got too greedy with his royalties, there are other BL optimization methods that could be chosen instead (at least, for subwoofers anyway).

Home audio is easy to "stage" right out of the box. Car audio takes some knowledge and skills to stage worth a damn. Apparently you are telling us you are one of those people who cant build a car stereo with a solid soundstage.
Wrapping your wires in tape/foam if they vibrate at an audible level.... isn't all that extreme. Most home audio guys do like most people here, buy based on hype, but spend 10X the money on it. They bring their 'system' home from BestBuy or Fry's, take it out of the box and sit it in the corners of their nice neat square room. Next weekend they carpet the walls and all the sudden they are God's gift to audio. That sounds like you, minus the fat wallet.
