Anybody following tookie's story?

I am completely against the death penalty. I don't believe that his actions in prison should grant him any special privliges, however, in my mind no man should ever be sentenced to death....

I'm not a full blown humanitarian like most who oppose capital punishment, and I believe in being punished for your actions, but I have a real lack of faith - a lack of belief in something after our life on Earth. For that reason I don't believe any mind should prematurely vanish, amazing things come from minds in extreme circumstances, don't cut anyone short.

Nicely put. Thats pretty much my view. If you already have them captive and they are being punished by not being able to live a real life, than why kill them. "An eye for an eye would leave the whole world blind"

Well, looks like his story is about to end tomorrow.

12:01, yes... And, I saw the movie and although much of it is exaggerated and what not for T.V. it was still a fairly moving story. No one truely has the ability to make this decision of whether he should live or die, I think he should just life the rest of his life in a cell with little human contact.

Have you guys seen on T.V. the huge amount of people gathered outside of the prison, waiting for his death? Pretty rediculous IMO...

Well i agree that the death penaltity is not needed but if they spare his life and just let him live in jail until he dies would be better

It wouldnt really be 'sparing his life', he will still die and it will most likely be an early death caused by the incarcurated life. I am very surpised that he is yet to be murdered by a fellow inmate...

well i look at sparing his life because now its is up to his life and god to decide if he lives or dies. anybody staying up and watching it?

He proves steroids exist in jail.

But on a serious note. It seems he has no remorse to the crimes he's done. He has written books but he murdered four helpless people, not gang bangers, but helpless innocent people. I think the process takes way too long though. He had countless appeals and it has taken so long that people aren't even aware or don't remember why he is being executed.

His legacy of brutality will live on through his founding of the crips.

In that case keeping someone in jail is limiting the value of an individual to society. But in my opinion releasing a murderer back into society is a bigger risk than any reward as he may continue down the same path.

Death penalty wouldn't be necessary if murderers didn't exist. So if individuals would just exert their energy to not murder we wouldn't have this problem.

I do believe in life afterdeath.

You must be against abortion then since we as a society may be losing an individual that has an amazing mind that could be the next Einstein.

its funny that now it is down to a life/death decision, he has changed supposedly. its what they always say. they should pump acid in his blood an let it eat through his artiries.

They showed a vid of him on campus the other day, I was kinda pissed I missed it.

I have no problem with the death penalty. After I heard about what he did, IMO he deserves to die. Killing 4 people is horrible. I dont care how many childrens books hes written. Maybe its because im origianlly from Texas and we arent scared to put people to death here. But I do believe that there are certain crimes that warant death as a punishment.
