LOL for sure.Pretty crazy that my house is on a tiny lot in SoCal and is(was) worth close to half a mill, but I can go to Texas and get an acre of land for a couple grand.
Good to hear.Yup..
We bought a 120 acres in a nearby county where we hunt a lot a few years ago because it was so cheap. We have sold 20 acres that had road frontage and have made back almost half of what we paid. That leaves us with 100 acres we are about to list.
Also just bought 180 acres an hour away this summer. They just harvested all the timber this spring. We have already planted 7-8 acres of food plots for wildlife and had a dozer to clear a lane along the border of our property. We are going to hire mexicans to replant the land in pines this summer. We can make close to $80,000 if we sell the land a year or two after we plant it. More than likely we are going to keep it for the hunting and try to manage it and then harvest the timber 18-20 years from now.
Very profitable venture if you are patient.
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gifmy grandparents bought up a bunch of land post wwII in ohio... started selling it off a few years back, some of it went to a interstate exit type deal, they have cell towers that pay a few g's a month on some of the others, and they recently sold a a little over 500 acres for subdivision development... long story short... each one of their kids (my father included) gets > 5 mil when they go
Good idea. Before you buy, find out who owns the land around it, and how much each person owns. I was in on this once, and it went really well, but it was a piece of property in a neighborhood and it was on the water.
Meh. why does anyone sell on ebay?i would question why its on ebay for a buy it now price if its in such a good area. seems like they'd make more selling locally.....
lol, i know. Im just saying, hell i could buy that whole subdivision for 100 grand probably, then bulldoze it and start over.theres a reason for that....
look at residential property in metro detroit if you're looking for cheap
2 hrs wouldnt be a problem. Its about 11 hours from my house. And the listing ends in 8. lol.Pretty good investment buying land, just be mindful of the zoning restrictions that apply, taxes and maintenance. In Texas, you can't really go wrong buying up land in the right areas. This lot is outside of Lubbock in a rural area it appears and you may be sitting on this land for quite some time unless there is a rush to build homes spreading west of Lubbock. For the price of the land, tell them to toss in the horse and it's a deal lol You might want to also try the Texas Vet Land Sales also.
Maybe you'd like to take a day trip and drive out to walk the property--you'll definitely know for sure if you want to purchase it or not. It's less than 2hrs from you--go for it!
Depends where its at. We have multi million dollar homes here as well. I will say your dollar will buy you more house here.Pretty crazy that my house is on a tiny lot in SoCal and is(was) worth close to half a mill, but I can go to Texas and get an acre of land for a couple grand.
LOL for sure.
Farmland around here can be had for 1800/acre but its going up.
Untillable but buildable land goes for around 800/acre.
Then if that's where I think it is...it's in the middle of nowhere.ya its right on the new mexico - tx border. Outside of lubbock.
