Anybody ever been on a cruise ship?

I've been on a couple. There's a few fees on top of the base price. You'll have to pay tax and port fees which will run you probably about $200 or so combined on a 5 day cruise. Tips (on the last day) will run you about $10 per person per day. I've done Royal Caribbean and Holland America. I'll do Royal Caribbean again. I've you're looking for a cheap cruise, Carnival isn't that bad (according to a few different friends) just a bit lower in what you get, but if you haven't been on any of the others, you probably wouldn't even notice.

i've been on one before, left from San Juan, PR hit up St. Thomas, Dominica, Barbados and Aruba. it was a 7 day cruise all inclusive only thing you had to pay for was liquor and soda and of course what ever activities you wanted to do off the boat. iirc price was around 900 per person.

I hear most of them are all inclusive

your meals are paid, drinks,etc

I've been on two royal caribbean cruises. Both of them were awesome times.

First one left from cape canaveral, florida and the other left from puerto rico.

Food is included (unless you go to one of the fancier restaurants), however you will have to pay for alcohol.

I was about to bish about you doing a search and then I noticed my Dec Caribbean Cruise thread was deleted… Must have been one of the *** mods who got in a lounge dump tangent. Too bad as I had some decent info.

Basically if you want more detailed info specific to a cruise go to cruisecritic.com forums, they have a plethora of info! Also try using cruisecompete.com to have agents bid on your cruise to get the best possible rate/onboard ship credit.

I went to Cozumel and costa Maya on a Carnival i believe. Great cruise. Want to go on one again.
I went on the same one. I was really fun and different. It was paid for by my boss. If I could have went with my friends instead of my coworkers, that would've been something really really special. We would've had so much fun. Totally worth the money in my opinion. I think everyone should experience that at least once in their life.

Thats why you just sneak it in water bottles //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
Any bottled water or drink purchased on land goes in the garbeage when boarding the ship again. Just went last year. RCCL is the only way. Norwegian sucks. Took the Liberty of the Seas, one smaller than the new Oasis.

Alcohol is not cheap (generally free on the islands, just hit up any jewlry store and they feed you beer like no tomorrow)

I've been on 3 cruises. I've spent on average $3k between my wife and I both on and off the ship. very easy to spend $1k especially when excursions are $60-$120 per adult

Bigger the ship, the more there is to do but the more crowded it is. Liberty barely moved on the water, smaller ships are quite rough depending on the time of year.

Food....I like the late dinner(8:30) gives time to get back to the ship and shower before eating, plus there are far less kids eating at 8:30 rather than eating at 6:30.

I always ordered 2 full dinners (small portions) and 2 or 3 appetizers. One night I ordered 3 dinners. Ate everything. I'm a thin guy too...lol

All food is free except the private restaurants.

I always flew in a day early incase of delays or unforseen issue's....
