wow, i can't believe Shane fvcked over all of you. i had a 2500d that somewhat worked, then i rewired it and it didn't work. they replaced it tho. remind me to stay clear of orion from now on.

Well getting a list together of those who got ripped off didn't quite go as planned nor did attempting to contact him. As of this morning I have started the process of filing a local police report and I am contacting the FBI internet crime division to file a report with them as well. The more people we can get to come forward the better. If I'm not getting my cash back hopefully a little love from Bubba, his cell mate, will get him off his ***. Well at least ensure his inability to stay sitting. lol

Seriously though I'm not letting him walk away from this and the more people willing to ensure he doesn't the better. Feel free to PM me or respond here.

I have a reliable source that told me that HCCA fan was working with an insider at DEI and all the product shipped out through orders placed with HCCA fan was stolen from the company. DEI was never paid anything for this product. HCCAfan and the insider were splitting the money. The company is not going to warranty anything that was not purchased from an authorized dealer and HCCAfan is not an authorized dealer. As they say...If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Everyone who has paid HCCAfan and not gotten product should pursue him for a refund.

Directed Electronics has a lawyer(s) in house I believe (they have a ton of intellectual property), so this is probably not the company to mess with. As for the warranty, more below.

I have seen many companies claim the "must be purchased by an authorized dealer for warranty stuff" but when push comes to shove, it does not trump federal law.

Read any warranty out there and typically they say warranty is for the original purchaser. As for requiring a warranty, the feds don't. They just have requirements on how they are handled. So if a consumer buys it and then sells it to another consumer (which in this interpretation that is what happened according to most manufacturers), they don't have to warranty it. Also, if there are no serial numbers (I don't know either way, but this is one of the ways guys transship JL) then there really is no proof that the manufacturer made the product.

When push comes to shove, they warranty product not because of fear of the feds, but because they are afraid other end users (many of the guys who have posted hating on Orion) might think less of the brand.

Also, if the top post is true, that might trump all others. If the product is hot, and they can trace it, things aren't going to end well for the people who bought since they don't really own it.
