Anybody actually made the switch to Vonage??

I used Packet 8 for a year or so and have been using Vonage for about three years. Never had any real issues other than echoing maybe 4-5 times over 4 years or so.

One thing to remember is 911 is not the same, they do not 'trace' your call so you need to make sure your 911 info it always updated on the site.

Do what my parents did and make your kids pay for it and lock that shit down you can turn off long distance.

A cool thing about the vonage service, you can set it up to email or text your cell phone, if you get a new voicmail.

Yeah, that's one they've got for sale for $10 if you sign up online for the first time.

Right now we've got a Linksys wireless router we've been using for a while. I guess we could just keep using that for Vonage service, too, no?

I have been thinking of checking into the tmobile home phone for 10 bucks a month, but don't know what it includes. Going to check it out now, thanks to this thread.

I pay 40 bucks right now through Time Warner for our cable phone landline. Too much if you ask me. Does include everything though.

Oh yeah to CHAD about you don't need a landline, well yeah my cell don't work in my apartment, nor does the wifes, nor did our old cell phone or any of my friends. Something with the building. So we have to have a landline, which IMO is the best service around still.

I have vonage, works great. It all depends on your internet connection. I have comcast, so I get like 4mb download speeds.
Probably why some other here had problems, crappy *** DSL or something.

If you have cable internet, I would recommended vonage.

If the power goes out, then use your cell phone.

also had comcast when i had vonage.... 1 mbps up and around 3 down (at that time) It was also a PITA to switch my # to Vonage and to get my # back.
