Any WI people to help a newb out?

So this might sound kinda lame, but I was hoping someone in the southeastern WI area might be willing to meet up with me and help out a first timer. I'm still learning and I don't know any car audio junkies. I just installed my first 'real' system and I just want to make sure everything is right and most of all would like to know just how loud I can turn up my sub without hurting anything. I have a Powerbass S12-D and a Power Acoustik SPL2-520 amp. Anyone in the area that knows what they're doing who would be willing to quick look over my wiring and tell me how loud is too loud? ...Preferably between Racine WI and McHenry IL, but not in too bad an area of Milwaukee since I'm not that big or intimidating. :p

Edit: or Madison. I go there all the time anyway. Infact, I'll be there all day at my GF tomorrow.

I actually live in a small town near the WI border, but I go to Gateway in Racine and thought I'd have better luck with a more populated area. Where in Racine are you? Perhaps you could help me figure out why I blew the fuse in my amp for the second time since I put it in about a week ago. :p I think I have everything hooked up right... I have class in Racine everyone mon. and wed. If you'd be free either of those days, that would be awesome and I would be very grateful.

if u blew the fuse in ur amp twice u may not have everything hooked up right

check ground and speaker wiring

The gain is about 1/2 way up. The first fuse I blew was about 30 sec. after I first turned on the amp. I didn't realize at that time that the gain was up all the way. If gain affects fuses then that would explain why the first one went instantly. Like I said, I'm still learning. I'm about a week into my first sub.

you might not be intimidating, but i'd watch out for mike ^^^ :p

but he would be a good help if you're close by him. you can learn a lot reading the stickys here and browsing the site

Sorry I went away for a bit there. My internet Decided to stop working and AT&T didn't want to fix it. Anyway, I live in Lake Geneva. As I said, I go to school in Racine. That's where I'm at now. I also go to Madison weekly to visit my GF. Any of those areas would be perfect for me if any of you are available. Mon. and Wed. are the best days for me. As for my fuse problem, I'm not sure why, but it blew a third time but now doesn't seem to be having any problems. It's only when I get the volume up to around 34+. Yesterday, though, since it was finally above 10degrees out and I think my sub was sounding better, I cranked the volume up to about 40 and no problems. Maybe one of you would be able to help me set the gain right if it's not or otherwise tell what my problem is. Whoever would be willing to help and is closest just let me know and I'll figure out a way to get to whatever town you live in when you're available. Thanks again. You guys are awesome.

That's funny, bumpin buick. I'm always Busy because I'm in college. I'm also working full time, though. I'm not sure exactly how long it would take me to get there, but I could head up to whitewater today around 4-4:30 if you're free with such short notice. Otherwise I'll have some time again next week. I know where the main part of your school is with that big atrium building and that's about it. Haven't been to whitewater much.
