Any thoughts on these hybrid audio unity?

I like everything about these except the abs plastic basket. I would think te mids would **** because of this , but idk cause i know hybrid audio knows their stuff.

I figured , but abs plastic spacers resonate like crazy, i would think the plastic basket would do the same thing.

a lot of speakers have used it before. Remember, stamped steel and aluminum also resonates like a *****

They look nice, pretty much the clarus set with a different midbass driver and alot cheaper. I think i would almost rather get the claurus , but idk.

Unity = Imagine woofers + Clarus crossover and tweeter.

I have Imagine speakers in a box, but I haven't heard them yet. The woofer does feel cheap with its plastic basket, but they reportedly sound very good, that's why I bought them. My understanding is that Imagine speakers are best to be used in coaxial mode or in an active setup. This is because there is no tweeter attenuation, and tweeter is meant to blend well with the woofer in coaxial install. Once you move tweeter closer to yourself or more on axis there is no way to attenuate it, unless you run active or bi-amp. The unity crossover has +/-3dB options and the tweeter is reportedly more suitable to use on-axis. So in the end, it seems like Unity will probably work better in a passive component setup than Imagines.

If you have extra 2-channels, it's very easy to bi-amp Imagines, this is why I decided to buy them instead of Unity. I will try them first passive, but if I don't like it, I will take the bi-amp route.
