Any Tech heads in the house?

it's a sealed setup...you don't have to worry about the woofer unloading like you do with a vented system. It almost seems like an electronic way to "cheat" using a bigger box, like a full size TL or something.

why would you use it in a comp? The whole point of the system was to extend low-frequency response, for an audiophile HT system...not exactly something you'd want in a comp setting. You'd want the opposite, actually...less low frequency response to waste energy at 45 Hz or wherever you'd be burping the subs at.

this guy got a 15" to 120DB (at least) with a cheap speaker and 400W (RMS?) and was down to 15HZ without blowing the speaker?
... VERY easily done. sealed box.

sealed boxes are pretty much a joke in comps, when you can gain ~3 decibels from a ported box. low frequencies arent what kill a sub. low frequencies in a ported box are what kill a sub by sending it psat its mechanical limits. in a sealed box, i can play 3 hertz all day. not that you could hear that or anything.
